ABOUT US
The idea for Exotic Fruits Festival was born out of a profound realization of the challenged faced by artists during the COVID-19 pandemic. As artists ourselves, we witnessed firsthand the struggles and hardships that our community endured, from canceled gigs to shuttered venues. It was a time of uncertainty and isolation, but it also sparked a fire within us to make a difference. We knew that we had to do something to support our fellow artists and uplift those who are often marginalized in the industry. And thus, the vision for a festival that not only entertains but also empowers and advocates for change was born.
OUR MISSION
We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of BIPOC and queer artists and filmmakers, as well as supporting organizations that are making a positive impact in the Los Angeles community. Our mission is to create a platform that celebrates diversity, fosters inclusivity, and showcases the incredible talent that often goes unrecognized. Through our events, we aim to inspire change, promote social justice, and bring people together through the power of music and film.

From live events to online fundraisers, each dollar contributed has made a significant impact on local non-profits. Organizations that we've fundraised for in the past include Feminist Center for Creative Work (FCCW), Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory, ProjectQ, BEAM, and AMAAD.
We've served a diverse array of creatives whose unique voices and perspectives enrich our community. From mesmerizing performances to thought-provoking films, each artist has brought something special to the table, and shown the importance of their voices being heard.
At the heart of our festival are the dedicated volunteer staff who contribute countless hours to make this event a success. Their unwavering commitment, passion, and hard work are the driving force behind the magic of our festival. From event planning to stage setup, their efforts ensure that every detail is taken care of, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees.
